This exhibition will focus on two of the main themes in the production of the multifaceted American photographer Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), a pioneer of the female gaze on the naked body - of both women and men, outside all the moral conventions of her time - a passionate botanist, an extraordinary portraitist and a chronicler of American street life. Some thirty images from the José Luis Soler Vila Collection, taken in the 1920s and 1930s, one of her most brilliant periods, will be shown, in which the organic forms, common to bodies and plants, will offer a select and exquisite approach to her unique, experimental, unprejudiced, elegant, minimalist and evocative work.

Esta exposición se centrará en dos de las principales temáticas en la producción de la polifacética fotógrafa estadounidense Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), pionera de la mirada femenina sobre el cuerpo desnudo –tanto de mujeres como de hombres, fuera de toda convención moral de su tiempo–, apasionada de la botánica, extraordinaria retratista, y cronista de la vida callejera americana. Se mostrará, así, una treintena de imágenes, procedentes de la Colección José Luis Soler Vila y tomadas en las décadas de 1920 y 1930, uno de sus períodos más brillantes, en las que las formas orgánicas, comunes a cuerpos y plantas, ofrecerán una aproximación selecta y exquisita a su obra única, experimental, desprejuiciada, elegante, minimalista y evocadora.
